With the single uplink you have, the trunk port on the switch has to provide access a VLAN with the public network. With this VLAN in place, you can simply create an additional port group on the vSwitch with the appropriate VLAN ID and don't have to do anything in the guest OS itself other than configuring the desired IP settings.
