We use VMWare (ESXi 4.1 and VSphere 5.1) to run automated tests and we are wondering if there are tools to manage VMs performances in order to benchmark our system. If our typical setup is with 5 windows machines, we would like to make sure they run with the same performances as the real machines.
For the sake of argument, let's assume the "Windows Experience Index" as a measurement standard. The tool we are looking for would have the 5 indexes (CPU, RAM, Graphics, Gaming graphics, Primary HD transfert rate) and we could configure them like our typical hardware. In case, hardware performance cannot be met, VMWare would then log an warning or an alert depending on the deviation.
Does such a tool exist ?
