linux kernel version updated

Hello

Am a new user to vmware studio trying to create a linux ova using ubuntu 12.10

I was able to set cd links to /dev/sr0 and my ova creation succeeds.

but what I have noticed is that when I deploy a vm from the ova file the kernel version is different as opposed to creating a linux vm from ubuntu 12.10 iso

from 12.10 iso the version is 3.5.0.17

and from ova it is 3.5.0.36

any ideas what might be causing this.
