Thanks for the response. I think something is broken here. When I type a user name in the "people or groups to notify" field, the drop down appears almost immediately with the user's name listed. When I type a group name there, nothing happens. Doesn't matter if I wait for 2 minutes.
Further if I type a group name in that area and click "Share" it disappears as if I typed nothing.
I wonder too about the semantics here. To "notify" someone seems to result in an @mention of them. This seems similar to people tagging a post in Facebook or @mention in Twitter. They are highlighted or notified, but that does not mean they are the only people to receive the post, which would be the case if I posted in a group. When you say "Share with" I assume that means the post is restricted to that audience and shows up in the stream like "Geoff Fitch > Web Team" - that post would only be seen by the Web Team. When I "notify" someone, does that mean the post is restricted to them?
By comparison in Facebook this is clear - there is a "tag" option on a post (same icon as your "People or Groups to notify" option by the way) and there is also a drop down box that allows me to choose to whom the post will be restricted.
I appreciate your clarification on the bug and the functionality. This is important to us because we are often wanting to restrict certain threads to certain teams and having to go find the group every time you want to post to it seems super inconvenient (and I thought you had this functionality in the past?)
