Linux kernel panic after moving Datastore Location

Hello,

We have a single ESXi 5.1 host with several VM's running. One of these is a Linux RHEL 5 64-bit VM (PeopleSoft 9.2 Demo Server).

We are in the process of moving all the datastores from our EMC Celerra to our Nimble Storage.

Since I only needed to change the location of the datastore and not change hosts, the VM was powered down and I browsed the datastore located on the EMC and utilized the MOVE option to relocate the VM's folder from the EMC storage to the Nimble Storage. I have done this several times on Windows machines without incident. This is the first Linux VM I had to modify.

The move completed normally. There are (and I dont know why) 3 SCSI controllers defined in the VM and 5 drives

Controller 0 has DISK 1,2, and 3

Controller 1 has Disk 4

Controller 2 has Disk 5

After moving the datastore, I removed the machine (pointing to the EMC Datastore) from inventory and added it back from the Nimble Datastore.

However, when I attempt to power on the VM, it starts to boot up then kernel panics with the messages shown in the attachment.

Any help in discovering why this occured and information on how to fix it would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Bob Moody
