Unable to login into VCenter Vsphere Web Server through Web Sphere Client

I am unable to login into VCenter using web client.

Here is the exception message I see.  Can Anyone tell the solution how to fix the SAML Token probem in VCenter?

Quick update.

 

After discussing issue with VMware support engineer, there is no option to disable SSH in vCenter Server 6.x.

ESXi update 3

Hi, Update manager has the critical update 3 available for updating the esxi hosts.  Upgrade path states that the external PSC then VCSA should be updated first.  Is that critical for going from updat 2 to 3 or is it safe to run the esxi at a different update revision to PSC and VCSA? how do I apply a baseline without the U3?

vRA 7.2 - Communication between vRA Client (portal/web browser) to IIS, vRA

Hi

 

I am new to the vRA, just done with the POC deployment and seeking inputs/thoughts from vRA experts in this forum.

 

I am curious knowing how/what communication or workflow is when a User access the vRA portal using a web browser.

 

For Example. Tenant Administrator logs into the vRA portal (using a web browser) and creates a vSpere Endpoint then what is the flow and communication are used:

 

vRA portal (web browser) => (SOAP or REST web services?) IIS Server(.Net web application?) => (SOAP or REST web services / RPC ?) to vRA appliance => (SOAP Web Services call?) vSphere SDK.

 

Also, want to know what role the agents perform. Pointers to specific product documentation, programming guides are appreciated.

First off, you will not see an Adapter for VMnet0.  Instead, you will see in each physical NIC's properties, the "VMware Bridge Protocol" Service.

Do you have multiple NICs?  If so, try disabling Automatic bridging, and manually specify the one NIC that is usually connected to your network.

Missing action extensions on vSphere upgrade

Hi,

Our Flex based UI plugin module has action extension points both on Actions menu (+ right click on object) AND under Manage view. These have filtering criterion so they appear only for certian object types. It works well until someone upgraedes their vSphere Web server to 6.0 u2 or newer. I don't see any errors and didn't find any docuemtation on what has changed... closest I saw was Action menu's are now flattened to top level. Appreciate suggestsions. Am including the plugin file snippet for reference.

So from a NAT and NSX perspective this design is great and will work. having a single interface for your traffic entering and exiting your ESG will allow you to run statefull services on that device.

 

The only issue I could foresee is with running dynamic routing over vPC. You may be fine since the vPC is layer 2 and your layer 3 endpoint is upstream from my understanding, but most cisco devices won't support dynamic routing over vPC.

 

Again, that's sort of aside from the NSX thing, but it's something you should probably look into. I know it's bitten me in the past.

I had this same issue, ended up opening a case with VMware, they pointed me at a hotfix that I had to download from their FTP site.

VPS Nested VM - Bridged

Hello, I am using a VPS, In this VPS I have windows 2013 server installed, on this I have vmware hosting a vulnerable image for penetration testing.

When I am using NAT I am able to access the internet from the guest, however once we switch to bridged we are unable to access the internet or talk with other instances in the same subnet. A VPS is required to be used and I cannot use a dedicated server.
Is this vmware related or VPS related? Please help in any way you can.

VSAN 6.0+ and external storage DAS / JBOD

Can someone please point me to a resource that speak to using VSAN on hosts that have external enclosure attached via SAS HBA, JBODs. I am reading that since v6.0 external storage is supported but no HCL or adapters listed anywhere.

 

To what extent is this supported? What are the limitations of this support?

VMWare GUI Workstation crashes when restoring to Snapshot or Reset from VM\power menu

Running 12.5.5 build-5234757 of VMWare Workstation, on Windows 10 version 1703 build 15063.0.


Whenever I try to restore to a snapshot, or reset a VM from the VM-> Power menu in the workstation GUI, the GUI will crash.  The VM is still running and you can relaunch Workstation or reopen the VM from the System tray app without issue.  All the VMs are on one of many different local drives, doesn't matter if I have one or 6 VM's open, or what OS or configuration the client is running.

 

It was happening with the previous version I had, was hoping the update to the latest would fix.  Before I try an uninstall and reinstall of workstation I thought I would see if anyone else was seeing this?
