The "stuck" key should actually be released by pressing, and releasing it while the VM is in the focus.
What you may try is to press, and release it really fast and/or press it, hold it for a second or two, and then release it.

It is produced by the host on the fast ring.
It would be so good if it was the reverse, I reinstalled Windows 10 because of this and can confirm that now everything works as expected, no more crashes.
There is a bug or some sort of known issue with the way this test works through the VIC card. The virtualization layer between the physical connection and the hypervisor's connection will generate random MTU check failures. It also causes a lot of ARP traffic.
I wish I had a link to it, but if you shake the VMware and Cisco support trees they may have an official answer.
I recommend disabling the MTU check with anything using the VIC cards. I've experienced it multiple times in different C series deployments just like yours.
So the OS was updated today to version 1703 and that is when things got goofy. I rolled back and the VMware tools seemed to be broken. I went to reinstall VMware tools and it won't start the service Vmware CAF Management Agent Service. I am at a loss as to what to do at this point.
yes i tried to do that, but doesn't let me type after pressing it and releasing it
or hold it, it just let me type while i'm holding the altgr key
maybe im missing something
The reg setting of DisableSettingOfDefPrinter to 1 worked for me. You can have TPAutoConnect Enabled, and that reg key set and local printers map through, but do not displace the user's existing default printer setting.
Posting that this is a solution on Win 7x64.
AjayNadakuditi, Can you share an example of what you did for the entitlement service? In the linked example the heavy lifting is done by the get-hvmachinesummary cmdlet and then you can dig through the attributes to find information. I haven't found a similar approach for finding and changing entitlements. Global entitlements is an attribute we're not using.
Hi Graeme,
Is there an update for this?

If you turn off SMT you can install ESXi 6.5 on Ryzen but you lose your hyper-threading.
VMware, cant you at least tell us if you are working on this?
I believe the entries below have fixed the issue with the services getting captured in the Writable Volumes.
exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\CDPUserSvc_ exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\MessagingService_ exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\OneSyncSvc_ exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\PimIndexMaintenanceSvc_ exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\UnistoreSvc_ exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\UserDataSvc_ exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\WpnUserService_
Hopefully this helps others having the same issue.
I still have some duplicates however when looking at the service list in Windows but it doesn't seem to be building up as quick as it was before.
If you are not currently a VCP in another area, then you would follow the "New Candidate Requirements" listed here: VCP7-CMA Certification You do not need to earn your VCA6-CMA first.
We're having issues with Persona Management and folder redirection. We enabled persona management, and folder redirection within the persona GPO (Computer Configuration->Policies->Administrative Templates->VMware View Agent Configuration->Persona Management->Folder Redirection) We are having issues specifically with the Downloads, Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music folders. The Desktop folder works fine.
These are Windows 10 VDIs.
Currently, the path to our persona server is \\persona01\VDI_UserFolders$\%username%.%userdomain%\Foldername
For instance:
\\persona01\VDI_UserFolders$\%username%.%userdomain%\Desktop works fine. The path to Downloads is \\persona01\VDI_UserFolders$\%username%.%userdomain%\Downloads.
We receive this message when browsing to Documents on the VDI:
"C:\Users\username\Documents is unavailable. If the location is on this PC....."
That folder does not exist inside C:\Users\username, but I do see C:\Users\username\Desktop
I do see the folders created under \\persona01\VDI_UserFolders$\%username%.%userdomain%\ folder - I see Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, etc.
Any idea why the local C:\Users\username\Documents, Downloads, folders are not being created locally? Initlaly, I can create files and folders, but the next time the user logs in, we receive the unavailable message. I've confirmed the permissions with the Share Validation Tool, no issues.
Hi guys! I have the same problem since a few month and I can't find the solution.
My vcenter server is in:
OS. Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
DB: Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise 11.0.2100.60
VCenter Version: Versión 6.5.0 Compilación 5318154 (18 APRIL 2017)
Also I had the same problem in oldest versions (4602587 and 4944578).
As a temporaly solution I delete de profile folders from C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\data\vSphere Web Client\SerenityDB\serenity, after delete the profile folders works.
But I need to fix it definitly because crash frecuently.
I checked the GPO and not all user are add, and I cound't add it. hi users I couldn't add because doesn´t exist in my server.
content-library
perfcharts
vmware-vpostgres

The IPv6 is disabled in my Vcenter Server,

What are you seeing in the Personalization --> Background settings at that moment? Do you see the correct background there? Is this occasional or repeatedly? What happens if you reconnect without UEM? Do you experience the same issue then?
I'm running Snow Leopard Server as a VM under Fusion 7.1.3 on an early 2008 Mac Pro. Since 'downgrading' from Lion to El Capitan, I am not able to connect from the VM to the Host El Capitan. All of the sharing is setup as before. I can connect from the Host to the VM in finder but not vice versa.
Also, I've tried expanding the virtual drive and adding another virtual drive, but neither action seems to have any noticeable result. And, yes, I made the changes with the VM shut down.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hello:
We are currently deploying our own "Thin client" solution here which is basically on Windows 10 for the thin OS, and using the Windows version of the Horizon Client. The users must log in with their credentials to the physical thin client itself for some required applications to run and identify the user properly, as well as GPOs, etc.
For users on this solution, what we are faced with is the VM and the laptop will lock their screens after 15 minutes. This is a company policy for all machines to lock after 15 minutes for security reasons. When unlocking, they must authenticate to the physical thin client first, then authenticate in the VM both get back to their VM. This only happens when the user is already logged in to their VM and walks away long enough for it to automatically lock. We have our GPOs set to pass through Windows authentication, so when they first logon initially it does pass through the credentials so the user only has to authenticate once there. The issue is when they are already logged in and their machines lock, and they have to authenticate, it doesn't seem to pass that authentication through.
Unfortunately, we are kind of stuck but I was curious if there are any solutions to get around this, that are more baked in or integrated with the Horizon Client or thin clients. If possible we don't want to purchase a 3rd party product unless necessary. I have looked and so far do not see a built in way to handle this. I have not yet looked at 3rd party solutions either, as this is more of a question if it's possible with what we have, basically Windows and the Horizon Client.
I appreciate any and all feedback if any solutions that may take care of the re-authentication. Thanks!!
Any VMware employees out there?
Anyone had any luck configuring Visual Studio with Application Profiler? I would like for the application to skip the MSDN logon garbage and apply some custom settings. When I try to profile the application and close it down, application profiler doesnt appear to capture everything due to some processes still running in the background. I've tried closing them all out using task manager but that doesnt seem to make a difference.
Every startup of Visual Studio seems to take somewhere in the ballpark of 10 minutes and eats up all the system resources during this time, which is an awful end user experience. Looking for any ideas on how to mitigate this.
