Hi,
you can reset the password of SSO if you know the password of vCenter Server with a domain administrator account.
you can follow the workaround given in this link: - Reset the VMware SSO password in vSphere 6.0 - vInfrastructure Blog

Manikandan.
In vSphere 5.x, it is possible to use static routes to allow migration with vMotion across subnets, although this is not officially supported. vSphere 6.0 introduces TCP/IPv4 and multiple netstack instances. vMotion uses TCP/IPv4 to acquire a netstack instance and default gateway to support vMotion across subnets, and this configuration must be used instead of static routing.
yes, Vmware supports vMotion and HA cross subnet from6.0.
Useful Kb while deploying this:-
Deploying vCenter High Availability with network addresses in separate subnets

Hi,
I am not sure if you are making a mistake....
I also have a homelab server with 1 NIC, that should not be a problem at all, unless there is something in between which causes this kind of behaviour.
For my better understanding.
1 NIC, 4 IP's 1 IP for management, 3 IP's for normal network traffic and that is working fine without pfsense firewall?
Maybe there should be an exclusion in the pfsense firewall?
Can you give a more specific view of the situation?
Thanks!
Hi,
Do you try it with the Browser client? if so, please try the C# client (the old client), as the 6.0 version still works for 6.5, it might work.
But only for the ESXi host itself, not for vCenter Server.
Can you please try and see if it works with the C# client?
Hi,
In order to help, please give us some detailed information (ESXi version, vCenter Version, recently updated etc etc).
This description is for me a little bit to generic
Hello,
I have not found an information related to this "bug", but though it might help someone else saving some time. If you have further information, please feel free to link or add as a reply. If this is an unknown phenomenon, VMware should have a look at it.
I was migrating my ESXi 6.0 host to a new hardware. By "migrating" I mean setting up an entirely new host (ESXi 6.5) and copying (rsync) all VMs to the new host, updating the paths within the vmx file, registering them there and starting them on the new host. This worked for a few, but not for the major part of the VMs.
When trying to start the VM (using Web Client, pSphere client, or vim-cmd vmsvc/power.on) the connection of the client was immediately lost, as if the Management Service would restart. The VM did not start, there was no vmware.log and I also was not able to find any information in any of the other log files.
Originally, the source host was a ESXi-6.0.0-20150902001-standard and the destination host was ESXi-6.5.0-4564106-standard, but later I have updated both to ESXi-6.5.0-20170404001-standard (Build 5310538) and re-transferred the VMs. As such, the source datastore was on VMFS-5.60 (Raw Major Version: 14), while the destination datastore was VMFS-6.81 (Raw Major Version: 24). But I believe this has nothing to do with the error.
Eventually I could make the VMs start by removing the following properties from the vmx file. However, I have not identified which exact property or combination thereof made the difference. However I have always managed to start the VM after removing them:
Also I have noticed, that I had difficulties with some disk descriptor files (vmdk) when
Again, I have not completely gone to the root of the cause. Specially the ddb.tools* entries might have nothing to do with it and can be left as they are.
Please be careful when adapting any of these practice and only do it when you know what you're doing. And always have a backup copy of any file you edit!

Hi jakubjs,
You can try to use REST calls, the following way:
var catalogClient = vcacCafeHost.createCatalogClient(); var urlVariables = [catalogItemRequest.id]; // catalogItemRequest - VCACCAFECatalogItemRequest //, which you already have var req= catalogClient.getWithVariables("consumer/requests/{requestId}", urlVariables); json = req.getBodyAsJson();
I hope this will help.
I see no end in sight for this issue. This has turned into a lengthy thread with little to offer in the way of solutions. VMWare surely must be aware of the problems with OSX 10.11 and Fusion 8. It is a complete bust. I tried everything. Disabling hardware acceleration is a no go. This feature is not available in Windows 10. Don't see how to do it in Fusion 8 either. I implemented every suggestion I could find. Nothing improves the abysmal performance from either piece of software. I will never recommend VMWare Fusion to any Mac owner wanting to run Windows on their PC. I am going to the "final" solution. I am going to buy an Intel NUC to run Windows 10. Then I am going to uninstall VMWare Fusion 8 from my MacBook Air and free it from this faulty software. Then I am going to ask VMWare for a refund on the purchase of their software. This is truly a sad state of affairs. I believe VMWare should hang their head low in shame for releasing this product.
Hi All,
I would like to know generate capacity report monthly like "How many Vm can be created in future" for each cluster in my data centre.
How to calculate how many VM can be created in future based on the current utilization.
is there any calculation there to find future vm rooms in cluster.
regards
Maniee.
Hi wila, hi bluefirestorm
I bought a new graphic card ...
(Nvidia Ge GeForce GTX 750Ti 4GB)
Now all runs fine.
PTC Creo runs on Windows 7 on CentOS 7.3 ....
Great!
Don't know what was wrong with the AMD Cards.
Greetings

hi i'm trying to type my password on windows login screen
but doesn't let me type, just the numbers are working.
is there a way to fix this?
Are there any known to work patches for kernel 4.8.x? I can't go above 4.8.17 due to Highpoints drivers not compiling on newer versions, but vmci and vsock required me to cobble together some patching (I can post diffs if need be) but if there is something out there that is known to be correct, it would be appreciated.
Vmware.. why is every upgrade a fight with kernel modules???
From techpowerup.com,
AMD FirePro W2100
Memory Type: DDR3
Memory Bus: 128 bit
Bandwidth: 28.80 GB/s
Pixel Rate: 5.44 GPixel/s
Texture Rate: 13.60 GTexel/s
Floating-point performance: 435.2 GFLOPS
Nvidia GTX 750Ti
Memory Type: GDDR5
Memory Bus: 128 bit
Bandwidth: 86.4 GB/s
Pixel Rate: 16.32 GPixel/s
Texture Rate: 40.8 GTexel/s
Floating-point performance: 1,305.6 GFLOPS
Taking the pixel rate, texture rate, and GFLOPS, the GTX 750Ti is much faster than the previous FirePro W2100 that you had. If these 3 parameters were more or less equal/similar, the memory bandwidth would have been the tie-breaker.
Query related to vRNI Data source.
Planning to implement vRNI & main purpose of this is for the Micro Segmentation.
So for this I will be adding vCenter & NSX Manager as Data sources.
Is there any other components which needs to be added as Data sources ?
Also is there any matrix which explains what is the purpose of each Data sources when we include it in the vRNI.
Hi, I'm curious to know where SSH connections to a VMware Guest (Linux) are logged to? Would it be in the System Logs (vCenter | Monitor | Export System Logs...) or vmware.log for the specific VM?
Thank you - Using the fat client from 6.0 worked.
For those who are still experiencing the issue (because I always hit Enter before I remember to click the Login button.. old habits!), I found that doing a full reload in Chrome (CTRL-SHIFT-R) clears the exception. It's a quick way to clear it and carry on with what you need to do.
